Gerald Ratner Athletics Center Membership
The Gerald Ratner Athletics Center, designed by architect Cesar Pelli and named for alumnus Gerald Ratner (AB’35, JD’37), features a 50-meter by 25-yard swimming pool, a multi-level fitness facility, a multi-purpose dance studio, competition and auxiliary gymnasiums, and the University of Chicago Athletics Hall of Fame.
Advisory Council members may purchase 3-month or year-long memberships to the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center at the discounted general affiliate rate. Short-term access is also available through the purchase of a one-week pass for $15. All membership options must be arranged in advance of your visit; membership signup is not available on a walk-in basis. To take advantage of these membership options, please contact Jacquie Vinje at vinje@uchicago.edu before your arrival at the Ratner Athletics Center (please indicate you are a member of a University of Chicago Advisory Council).
For more information on memberships, please visit the Athletics and Recreation webpage.
Internet Access
The University does not provide open guest Internet to the public; however, there are two ways you can be connected.
If you have a faculty or staff sponsor:
The “UChicago-Guest” network allows campus visitors to access the internet with the approval of any faculty or full-time staff member. Access can be granted by a sponsor online through http://uchicago-guest.uchicago.edu. For more information see this ITServices answers page.
If you are doing library research:
Those interested in library research can inquire at the Regenstein Library front desk about guest internet access. This pass will also allow you to view the Special Collections. You may find their hours here.
All guests will log on with their new password on the “UChicago-Guest” wireless network. This network is unsecured, so please browse at your discretion.
